Ellis Family - Florence Recovery

Donation protected
My sister and her husband are Heather and Mike Ellis. Heather and Mike live in Fairfield Harbor in a house built in1986. They had only the most minimal flood insurance, as the house had never flooded. Until September 13 and 14, 2018, when Hurricane Florence hit eastern NC. Their house was flooded by two to three feet of water in different parts of the house.
Heather and Mike have two daughters, Hailie and Abbie, (Heather's daughters from a previous marriage) who are a senior and freshman at New Bern High School this year. They also have a seven-year-old son, Colton, who has special needs.
Colton is one of the cutest, sweetest kids you will ever meet. He's a smiling, happy boy. He also has Down Syndrome and Autism. He's in his third year at Brinson Elementary.
Heather takes Colton to school and picks him up, as riding the bus as a non-verbal child is not an ideal scenario. Thus, she works part-time to support her family. Mike works full-time at Patheon, which means shift work and long drives to/from Greenville.
My husband and I helped Heather and Mike at their flooded house today. We removed all of the furniture, bedding, carpet, and flooring. I threw away all of the girls' dripping wet shoes. Their notebooks and bookbags. Their toiletries and pictures with friends. Their clothes in the bottom dresser drawers. Their soaked childhood treasures and mementos. It's all ruined. My heart breaks for these kids. For my sister, of course, but especially for these kids.
Tomorrow, the guys will remove the sheet rock and wet insulation from the house. This family will be displaced for months, at best. We had to dispose of so much, it's unimaginable. Everything in their refrigerator, pantry, linen closet, you name it. They will have to rebuild and re-buy everything.
If you are able to help, please do so. Above all, please pray for them. God can do so much more than we can even imagine, so your heartfelt prayers will mean the most. If you are able to contribute monetarily, please do that as well. No amount is too small, as Heather and Mike will not only have to rebuild and replace items in their house, but they will also have to survive for the next few months until they are able to work on their house. They will be so grateful for your blessings upon them (and, truth be told, didn't want me to do this at all, but sometimes, we need to accept help when it's offered). They're amazing people, but I am sure that you already know that by now. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
GoFundMe needs the following information, so I am providing it so that funds donated can be distributed to Heather and Mike:
1. My name is Allison, and I am from New Bern, NC.
2. Heather is my sister, and Mike is my brother-in-law.
3. Heather and Mike will use funds donated to purchase items ruined by the flood, which could include any items that were in their house: all of their furniture, linens, food, appliances, clothing and shoes, etc.
4. I have already made Heather the beneficiary of this GoFundMe account, which means that she has set up this account to deposit funds into her/Mike's bank account.
