When you begin life's grand adventure, you don't expect to be faced with your greatest fears in rapid succession. Yet, sometimes that is where the trail leads. The Johnson family has found themselves in an ever deepening cave of trial.
Mariah shook hands with death briefly in March when she had a life-threatening reaction to a medication used to treat her rheumatoid arthritis, which left her unable to continue working full-time as a dental hygienist.
As she was on her long walk on the road to recovery, her 13 year old daughter, Ellie, was taken to the emergency room with severe abdominal pain where a CT scan revealed an issue with her bowel. While that news would have been bad enough, the CT scan just happened to pick up the lower part of her lung, where the technician noticed a mass that shouldn't have been there. After many more scans from CT scans to a PET scan, Ellie has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin Lymphoma, which would have gone undetected had it not been for a miraculous heavenly intervention.
Now, the Johnson family is facing an uncertain future with faith and hope. While that future is darkened with financial distress, we can offer some light as we ease that burden so they can focus on supporting Ellie through a very difficult time.
