Ellie Mae's Bone Cancer Treatment

Hello everyone,
My name is Linzy Trueblood. I am a loving, single and struggling parent of a beautiful four-year-old Boxer mix by the name of Ellie Mae. My dog is my everything, my pride and joy, my sweet fur kid.
Ellie is a kind, loving and full of life dog. Sadly, Ellie was diagnosed with bone cancer.
I was out with Ellie about a month ago, when all of a sudden, out of nowhere, she let out a loud yelp and started limping on her back, left leg. At first I thought she had broken it. With no hesitation I rushed her to the vet to see why this was happening. The vet first thought that Ellie had sprained her leg. After x-rays and blood work, it was determined that there was a mass and the diagnosis might be some type of cancer. We were sent to a specialty hospital by our wonderful vet at Tustana Animal Hospital where it was determined by bone aspirate that Ellie had bone cancer.
After the shock of such a devastating diagnosis I had to face choosing the best treatment for my beloved dog. I was given options by the Southern California Veterinary Specialty Group in Orange County, who have the very best doctors for treating dogs with cancer. I am so grateful for them. I decided that chemotherapy with them and radiation with The Veterinary Cancer Group was the best initial treatment choice.
Ellie had her first treatment of pamidronate infusion on Thursday, June 7, 2018 and I am hoping and praying for the best. Radiation and chemotherapy soon come next.
If chemotherapy and radiation does not work, I am faced with the possibility that Ellie’s left leg may have to be amputated. While she is a good candidate for this procedure, it’s not one I want to have to choose.
We are taking one day at a time with all that has and is happening. Please know quality of life is my top priority through all of this for her. She's young and has a good chance to live much longer. I know my Ellie is a fighter. I first fostered her at 3 months from Boxer OC Rescue where I volunteer. I fell in love with her and was able to adopt her at 5 months. At 6 months she had meningitis and like a champ she fought and got better. I'd love to help her beat this cancer too.
Ellie’s medical bills have already started piling up. $2,607 for testing and first treatment. For the radiation it will be $7,991.68 which does not include if needed additional medications, blood work, radiographs and ultrasound or unforeseen other conditions. Future ongoing chemo will be ball park between $4,000 - $6,000 for 4-6 treatments. I would be humbly and gratefully appreciative for any financial help you could give Ellie. I would also be grateful for all of your prayers and for your sharing this story with others via social media or word of mouth. This is really hard for me asking for help. You never know if you never try and I love my dog so very much, so here I am doing the best I can.
