Support for Soul Fire Farm

Aloha friends/family/colleagues/strangers on the internet,

Today is my birthday, and since I’ve learned more in my last year of life than I have in my entire 22 years of existence, I wanted to do something a bit more meaningful to celebrate. What better way than to give back to an incredible cause during a time of need.

Soul Fire Farms is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in upstate NY that is committed to dismantling the structures of racism and injustice in the food system by inspiring positive local action around food access and social, economic, and racial justice issues.

They focus on educating Black, Indigenous, and People of color, also known as the BIPOC population, on growing, harvesting, and distributing wholesome and nourishing foods - then distribute these life-giving foods to marginalized communities who otherwise would not have access to them.

Not only do they allow the BIPOC populations to establish a deeper connection with the land and wisdom of their ancestors, they bring together a diverse community to share skills on sustainable agriculture, activism, health, and environmental justice.

The 90 bio-diverse crop and livestock varieties distributed across their two acres of land are training the next generation of activist farmers and strengthening the movement for food sovereignty and sustainable living.

Their website details their growth and expansion plans to increase their distribution capacity. Imagine what they can do with our support. My goal is to raise $500 for this incredible organization, and you can help make my birthday wish come true by supporting the cause or sharing with someone who might. You can either donate directly to the organization, or you can donate to the go fund me campaign I created to pool together one lump sum. On Sunday, June 14th, I will be submitting the funds raised for a corporate match to double our contribution - so no donation is too small. Please let me know if you’ve donated directly to them so I can accurately track our impact as well as send you a thank you note.

Thank you,
Elli Suarez
