During a time of economic hardship across the world and coronavirus mutation with number back on the rise imagine finding out less than 2 weeks before a necessary procedure that your surgery may not be possible.

In April 2022 I received news that I wasn't sure how it would immediately impact my life and those around me. Following advisement of my physician in getting necessary treatments in preparation for a surgery caused me to deplete my savings.

As a single mother, the stressor of how to maintain our day to day as well as ensure I am taking the steps I need to in order to manage my health, has been a challenge to say the least.

The news I received this week literally broke me down emotionally because I know that without this surgery, things could get worse. Even with the insurance, my out of pocket expenses calculate to $5843.76. That expense is simply for the surgery. I have also been told my recovery period would should be at minimum 6-weeks due to limited mobility after surgery.

Those who know me know I am strong-willed and believer of faith. I am also a realist in knowing that sometimes you fall into a unforseen position and have to ask for help.

I humbly seek assistance from anyone who can lend a hand in my time of need.
