In early May 2019, 5 year old Ellery Clark woke up one morning with two large lumps in her neck. Immediately concerned, her parents, Ian and Ariane took her to McMaster Children's hospital in Hamilton, Ontario to get checked out. The doctors were initially flummoxed, but a series of tests and subsequent hospital visits over the next few weeks eventually landed Ellery with a diagnosis that is every parent's worst nightmare: Cancer.
Ellery is fighting an extremely rare form of aggressive cancer in her head and neck called Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma: as few as 12 people in Canada are diagnosed annually. She will undergo 6-9 months of treatment, including chemotherapy and radiation.
Ellery and her mum Ariane, a small business owner, are known and loved by so many in the community. Ellery is a child that often defies adjectives to describe her: she is beautiful, selfless, sweet, feisty and truly marches to the beat of her own drum. It is almost unfathomable to think of such a sweet young girl afflicted by such an awful illness. She went from playing and running around with her younger twin sisters Ava and Rory only a few weeks ago, to needing extreme doses of morphine to make it through the day.
Any funds raised will go directly to the Clark family to help them navigate treatment effectively, helping to keep the family together, with their sole focus on helping Ellery get better. Any amount, large or small, will help.
We thank you for your donations, thoughts, wishes and prayers to help this little girl karate-chop her way through this diagnosis and emerge her beautiful, radiant self on the other side of treatment.
This fund has been created by the friends and family of the Clark family.
As Ellery continues to fight, we will add information in the "Updates" section for those in the gofundme community.
