Ella's Therapy fund

In January 2016, our lives changed forever.  Our 20-month-old daughter had her tonsils and adenoids removed.  A catastrophe occurred, and what should have been a routine surgery resulted in a severe brain injury, leaving her disabled.  She was hospitalized for months.  There for a while, we didn't know if we would get to take our baby home with us.  Although it has been a very long and bumpy road with hospitalizations and a number of therapies, I am proud to say Ella is home.

Because of the extensive hospitalizations and the need for regular therapy sessions, I have been unable to work so that I can take care of Ella; our income has been limited accordingly.  My husband continues to work to provide for our family and keep our much-needed health insurance coverage.

However, our health insurance only covers a limited number of therapy visits per year.  This means that Ella may only receive a percentage of the therapy she actually needs.  We have already paid out-of-pocket for some therapies, but our funds are running low, and I cannot work due to the care Ella requires.

We are reduced to asking for any financial support to help us provide Ella with the therapy she needs in the form of occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy, along with VitalStim therapy to help her swallow better.  These therapies cost hundreds of dollars every day, five days a week.  In addition, one of the therapies we wish to get for Ella is TheraSuit Therapy, a method of strengthening for individuals with cerebral palsy, developmental delay and traumatic brain injury; this therapy also costs thousands of dollars.

The road ahead is long, but with love, faith, encouragement and your help, we hope our baby girl can make some improvement.  Donations in any amount are welcomed and deeply appreciated.

We couldn't be more proud of her achievements in this past year and we know she is here for a reason, she is a fighter her unbelievable strength has shown us that no matter what life throws at you, you have to keep your head up and fight.  We are so very thankful to still have our sweet girl. She has a smile that lights up our world and we wouldn't trade it for anything! Due to insurance reasons we are starting a fund to try to see that Ella receives all of the therapies she can get. She is currently receiving 10 therapy sessions a week but we may be losing her secondary insurance which means Ella will only get 100 a year. We are also trying to get her into therasuit therapy to help her improve.  Ella is our little miracle and we are trying to get everything she can get to improve.
