I have been invited to participate in Abundant Life Together (ALT) Year in Toledo, Ohio. I have personally chosen to use this year as preparation for Seminary.
ALT Year is a living-learning community for young adult Christians, ages 18-25. This 'gap' year program, which runs from September to May, is an opportunity for relational learning, vocational discernment, service leadership and spiritual growth. ALT Year is a new ministry in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. I will participate in Toledo, Ohio; however, future sites are being planned for in other parts of the country. I am very excited to have been invited into this enriching and exciting experience with other young adult Christians. I know this community will benefit from God's ongoing mission in the world.
ALT Year participants are asked to contribute their living costs for the program year (room and board, supplies, and a monthly stipend for spending money). This amounts to $5090 for the entire experience. The actual cost of the program is much higher; however, due to the generosity of partner congregations, synods and ELCA Churchwide funding, young adults accepted into the program are able to experience this opportunity at a reduced rate.
Would you be willing to make a financial contribution toward my ALT Year experience, so that I may share this enriching and exciting experience with other young adults? I welcome your support at this important time in my life. Any donations over the needs of my scholarship will benefit other young adults who want to participate in this ministry and do not have as much scholarship assistance.
