Memorial Park Bench for Jeanette

Donation protected
The family of Elizabeth Jeanette “Betty” Stoneburg/Bennett would like to raise enough money to purchase and dedicate a park bench in her name. The goal is to place this bench along a walking path, in one of her favorite local parks. The area in which the family plans to install this bench had special significance in the life of this amazing woman.

When Jeanette was an infant she and her 6 siblings lost their father during WWII. He was an Army Ranger and Purple Heart recipient. The family struggled in poverty throughout the years but their mother kept them clean and they always knew they were loved. They all grew up with a strong work ethic and an undying love for family. Jeanette was no exception. Although she knew sorrow, pain and grief throughout the years you'd never know it because she showed love, happiness, humor and compassion. She was hard working, but always positive, upbeat and faithfilled even though some of the things she experienced in life would be enough to give others reason for self-pity. She was proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a contagious, unique laugh and a mischievous grin probably because she was getting ready to play a prank or do something else to make us all laugh. This fun, happy, loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend of so many was living proof that happiness is a choice. She understood that life is very hard at times, but knew that it can also be so wonderful, if you let it be.
