She was brutally struck with the object 7 times.  She suffered a broken nose, black eyes and bruises all over her body but mainly located on her face and head.  I believe that she is the hardest working person I know and probably the most dedicated staff members CCI has on staff. She has been working there going on three years and was promoted to Sargent about one year ago. She has worked continuous and repeated 16 hour days year round. Working 80-90 hours a week for her is normal almost expected of her now. There have been complaints from the staff members and her of being understaffed and overworked but the stressful work environment and obvious dangers of working in a prison prevent them from having the staff that is needed. Being a petite woman at 5’3” tall and 140 lbs and 54 years old makes her an easy target for a coward inmate willing to assault a person as small, overworked, overwhelmed, over stressed, and vulnerable. I am asking for help so that she can continue to pay her bills and expenses that will continue to come regardless of the incident that happened to her. She never should have been alone or put in a situation where she could have been attacked hit 7 times.  This issue is a constant worry of mine and probably of every family member and friend of the dedicated and brave individuals that put themselves in harms way to run the prison systems on a daily basis. I hope that everyone can show the kindness and humanity that my mom shows the inmates in the prison. They are people and have loved ones too. They are no less of humans then we are and are paying a price for the crimes they were found guilty of.

Thank you for reading about the brutal incident my mother bravely endured and  Happy New Year!!!!!!
