Elisha's Innowalk
Donation protected
I have type 2/3 SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) and am fundraising towards the cost of some new equipment - the 'innowalk'.
As you may know, SMA is a genetic muscle wasting disease meaning I am wheelchair bound and unable to stand. I also struggle, particularly in the cold weather, with respiratory infections, often leading to hospitalisation. More information on SMA can be found at www.nhs.uk/conditions/spinal-muscular-atrophy-sma/
The innowalk is a unique piece of equipment that would allow me to move from sitting to standing to moving with the assistance of the machine. Having use of the machine would allow me to build up the strength in my legs, challenge my chest and improve my lungs and blood flow. I feel strongly that having access to this equipment would greatly impact on my quality of life. More information on the innowalk can be found at www.madeformovement.co.uk/innowalk
Unfortunately, this is not currently funded on the NHS and so we need to raise the funds ourselves.
Any donations are gratefully received. Should we find we are unable to meet the target - any donations will be put towards a similar cause for another individual with SMA.
Best wishes
