Elida M. Cano’s little Isaac

To God the glory for allowing us to share a time and space with Elida! There are no words to best describe the impression she was able to make with anyone who met her. Her faith and trust in God allowed her to stand with a head held high to the end. The impact in her work to raise awareness of breast cancer , especially in the Latino community will forever be part of her legacy.
In November 2015, we received news that Elida had advanced breast cancer and it had already begun to spread. After multiple chemotherapy treatments, radiations, surgeries, natural treatments we again received news in November 2017 that the cancer was not responding to treatment of any sort and she was then considered terminal.
Elida passed away March 5,2018. She leaves behind her husband Adrian, and their son Isaac. If you know Elida then you may have an idea on the 4 year old “mini me” that he is. She loved Isaac so much, and even at his young age he was the best care taker she could have ever had. Their bond ran deep and their love was precious. They share so many similarities in personality that she truly has left behind a beautiful boy version of herself for us to love and guide.
It is now up to us to make sure we are doing all that is in our hands to take care of Isaac and provide him with the love ,care and future resources he will need to be a successful, God fearing man. We made a promise to Elida to care for him and that we will do.
This is just the beginning of this new journey we all will share in Isaac’s care. We will get there! Paso a pasito poco a poquito!!
