Help the Drew Family

For the last year and a half our friend Dave Drew has battled leukemia. He had good days and bad days and decided to just take life one day at a time. As we all know, Dave is a tough guy and refused to give up. Even when the doctors told us he just had a few hours to live he continued the fight and hung in there for another week. Sadly, on August 30 our friend lost his battle with cancer. Since then his wife and three sons have struggled with the loss of their husband and father and now they are struggling with all the bills that have accumulated since Dave got sick. Dave’s friends and family threw a fund raiser in his name about a year ago but the funds raised were quickly exhausted to help defray catastrophic medical bills. Unfortunately Dave only had a very small life insurance policy which only covered the cost of his funeral.It’s always hard to ask others for help and Cathy has told me she is not going to ask her loved ones for help again, so I’m asking for her. One thing I have learned in the 24 years in the Police Department is that when a member is in need, we always step up and help out. I’ve been to so many fund raisers throughout my career and I’ve seen amazing things done for the families left behind to pick up the pieces. It is my prayer that we can make a difference in their lives when they need it the most. So on behalf of the Drew family I’m asking you to make a contribution.
