Elevate Livestream Benefit Concert

Our Mission: Elevate
Rexdale Youth Mentorship (RXYM) is a Black- led grassroot organization that aims to address the systemic and structural barriers plaguing black youth. Our mission is to create safe spaces for black and racialized youth by providing them with personal and professional tools to positively support their development into young adulthood.

We accomplish this mission by offering 13-21 year-old black and racialized youth with: virtual and in-person one-on-one mentoring, interactive workshops, homework assistance, book clubs, field trips and community events.

Our Current Goal
With the school year slowly approaching, we are looking to host our 2nd Annual RXYMBack-2-School BBQ and to provide 50 youth in our program with school gear. We want to ensure that our youth have the best that we can offer them, which means high quality supplies and apparel for school. This is not to put an emphasis on materialistic aspirations, but rather to help them feel empowered to succeed in the new school year.

As a community organization we wanted to continue hosting this event annually to continue supporting our youth with their educational needs. This time around the 2nd Annual RXYM Back-2-School BBQ has the same goal of supplying youth with the proper school gear,  but in order to do that we need the funds to accommodate our youth with those school essentials. This is what the benefit concert will be helping RXYM with.

Support Our Program’s Growth
Last year we were able to do this for 25 of our youth participants but since then, RXYM has grown! With our growth, we are now looking to support 50 youth in our program with school supplies.

Having additional help will allow us to reach this goal but will also support us with putting more money into our regular weekly programming and services that we provide during the school year.
