Electronic Devices for Nursing homes

Patients in nursing homes are being hit hard when it comes to the quarantine due to COVID-19.  Those with psychiatric illnesses (depression, anxiety, dementia) have even more issues with the social isolation.

Some patients with psychiatric conditions do better with a routine, which has been disrupted due to the isolation.  Many of the patients in the nursing homes do not have family members (or do not have the funds) to help them get electronic devices that can help keep them connected to loved ones.  They do not have the option of using apps to have books read to them, listen to music, or even read on.

Some of those patients want the option of reading a book, but due to their poor vision, difficulty with concentration, or numerous other concerns, are not able to read books traditionally, but enjoy listening to stories.

My goal here, is to get enough money to get some electronic devices to those patients who are not able to buy one (or have family members buy one for them).  The use of these devices will hopefully decrease some of their loneliness, and boredom that they have been dealing with since the start of this  COVID-19 quarantine.

My hope is that with the money that is raised, I can buy some basic tablets (the ones that I am currently looking at are about 80 dollars each) to send to the nursing homes that I work with.  These tablets are not fancy by any means, but should be enough to allow those who want to use them, the option of having them.

Thank you.
