HELP 4 Cats at Studio Kitten w electrical injuries

Tax deductible

This is little Salem, he is 10 wks old today. He was born in my house on 2/20/20  to a foster cat mommy I'm caring for through Cats at the Studio. Today after coming home from work (I am a registered nurse in a local hospital) I brought little Salem and his siblings into my room to play, unfortunately during the few seconds I wasnt directly looking at him he got a hold of a lamp's cord and bit it. I was in the room running with one of his siblings and heard a quick cry and immediately ran to him and saw him shaking and pulled him from the cord. I immediately gave him CPR as he wasnt breathing. Thankfully he soon started breathing and regained consciousness quickly after that but I knew he needed emergency help as I could see and hear he was having trouble breathing. I immediately rushed him to the closest emergency vet (AV Veterinary Center in Palmdale) where he was immediately rushed inside and provided immediate intensive care. Xrays were taken and his lungs and heart were checked and showed he has pulmonary edema (fluid in his lungs) as a result of the electrical injury. He is on continuous oxygen and on a lot of medications (breathing treatments, antibiotics, diuretics and others for his lungs). He is currently there and will stay there for the next 24-48hrs until he is out of danger. As this was an emergency situation and because of all of the intensive care he requires the costs will be high (around $1,500 per the initial estimate) and unfortunately the emergency veterinary clinic he is at doesn't give much of a discount to rescues. He is an amazingly sweet and playful kitten and was getting ready to be adopted in the next couple of weeks. Please if you find it in your heart to contribute to his much needed care myself and the Cats At the Studios family will be forever grateful.

Cats At The Studios Inc., is a non-profit cat rescue and any donation will help make an impact in this kitten's care. Thanks in advance for your contribution to his care.
