Electric Recumbent Mountain Trike for Paraplegics

We are a group of students from the Camosun College Mechanical Engineering Technology program creating an Electric Recumbent Mountain Trike.  Our Trike is aimed to give paraplegics greater opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy the experience of mountain biking! For our project, we are designing all of the mechanical components of the trike including the frame, steering, suspension, and safety equipment. To complete our project there are many off the shelf components we must purchase  (3000W motor, 1000Whr battery, front and rear mountain bike shocks, wheels, brakes, etc). Funding from the school and other companies has been minimal so we must pay for the project out of pocket.
