Elderly Korean War Veteran Home Destroyed By Fire

Donation protected
Frank Loughner,  an 86 yoa Korean War Army Veteran lost his home and all of his belongings in a total destruction fire March 3rd, 2021. The Slickville PA American Legion is working to help him to re-establish a residence on his lifetime property with a goal of a mobile home or something similar.  Volunteers are coming together to clean up the burn site and renew foundation. Frank has been an active member of the American Legion and its missions for decades. He lives only on Social Security as the company that he was a part of for most of his career moved south then eventually closed, Frank has minimal personal resources except only a few family members and his local friends and neighbors. A residence is needed as soon as possible with all furnishings and appliances, preferably on the property where he has resided most of his life. Delivery, set-up, and utility connections will be needed as well. In addition to the residence a utility shed with small lawn tractor would be greatly appreciated. Slickville American Legion is working with local partnerships to gain the volunteer labor and tools needed to restore the property quickly. We have located a currently available Park model trailer that will meet Frank’s needs and intend to put a hold deposit on it within the next couple of day so that it does not sell while we continue to raise funds to cover the balance.
