<div>First, I want to thank everyone on the <strong>Upper West Side, Upper East Side,</strong> and the incredible <strong>Central Park dog families </strong>who stepped up with compassion, resources, and support. Your kindness has been overwhelming — thank you from the bottom of my heart.

<div>Miracle after miracle continues to unfold in Lady’s story. Just five minutes after I agreed to take her home, <strong>Rashmita (Rashi) Redkar</strong>, another Central Park dog mom, came over, saw what was happening, and offered her support. We exchanged numbers. An hour later, she texted me and <strong>insisted on paying half the medical costs</strong>. I was stunned. Rashi has been a rock and a blessing to both me and <strong>Lady</strong>.

<div><strong>Lady’s Condition</strong>
</div>
<div>When I brought Lady home and took her to the vet, we discovered she has <strong>multiple, serious medical issues.</strong> As anyone with pets knows, <strong>veterinary care can be as expensive as human medicine</strong> — and the costs are spiraling.

<div>Here’s what we’ve learned so far:

<li><strong>Lady is approximately 15+ years old.</strong>
</li>
<li>She has a <strong>microchip from Colorado (2010)</strong>, but it was never registered, so the original owners can’t be found.
</li>
<li>She was initially overmedicated — heavily sedated and placed on high-dose narcotic painkillers — which left her in a stupor. The treatment plan was inadequate and caused more distress than relief.

<div><strong>Initial Vet Findings:</strong>

<li><strong>Possible dementia</strong>
</li>
<li><strong>Severe arthritis</strong> in the hind legs
</li>
<li><strong>Hearing loss</strong> (though her ears are clean)

<li><strong>Probable lymphoma</strong> (likely benign, though there's a hard spot that raised concern)
</li>
<li><strong>Possible neurological issu</strong>e (uneven pupil size, possibly age-related)
</li>
<li><strong>Severely damaged teeth</strong> — too far gone for brushing or repair
</li>

<div><strong>Emergency Care at Animal Medical Center</strong>
</div>
<div>After returning from the first vet, Lady <strong>spiked a 105-degree fever </strong>and became dangerously lethargic. In a panic, I rushed her to the <strong>Animal Medical Center (AMC)</strong>. The amazing doctors there responded immediately.

<div>Lady is now resting comfortably at AMC. The vets believe she <strong>may have suffered a stroke</strong>, likely brought on by age, stress, and improper initial treatment. Despite everything, she is fighting.

</div>
<div><strong>Why I’m Asking for Help</strong>
</div>
<div>Some of my friends think I’m either <strong>crazy or a heroine</strong> for bringing Lady home that day. But the truth is, I couldn’t turn away when I saw her trembling and terrified in the park. She needed someone — and I was there.

<div>So far, <strong>medical expenses are nearing $13,000.</strong> And there will be more.
