Help me tell the inspiring stories of women entrepreneurs in 12 different countries around the world!
Hi there! I'm Elayne Fluker and I host a five-day-a-week podcast called Support is Sexy that features inspiring women entrepreneurs around the world! To date, I have interviewed more than 200 women, we have listeners in 130 countries and the podcast has more than 200,000 downloads -- all from my in-home studio. My mission is to spread the message to women far and wide that having it all doesn't mean doing it all alone, and now I'm taking the Support is Sexy podcast on the road (and on a plane!) for a trip around the world! But to do so, I need your help!
Recently, I was selected to be a part of a yearlong program called Remote Year, that will allow me to travel to 12 countries in 12 months -- in Africa, Latin America, Europe and Asia -- with an international group of entrepreneurs and creatives, and my goal is to interview women entrepreneurs from those countries, and to share their stories via my podcast and with compelling video.
In each episode, we'll get to know:
- How these women are building their businesses.
- How they're contributing to their local economies.
- How they're bettering their communities.
- How they get the support they need to be successful!
Support is Sexy podcast already features diverse women from all parts of the world, but I believe this work will be a powerful exploration of women and entrepreneurship globally: What are the unique challenges these women encounter; how do they get around those challenges; how do they achieve and what are the priorities for them in their businesses and in their lives? I want to use the Support is Sexy podcast as a platform to amplify the stories of these women and to support them and their businesses by exposing them to my audience and community of tens of thousands of people!
WILL YOU HELP?
How your generous contribution will help!
I will use your contribution to:
- Help cover the cost of participating in the yearlong program, which is $30,000. (As part of the program, this $30,000 includes travel, accomodations for the month, 24-hour co-working spaces in each city and special programs.)
- Support with production costs for creating high-quality podcast recordings on-location.
- Support with video production expenses, including professional filming and editing, while traveling.
I have been telling the stories of women for more than 20 years as a media professional with some of the industry's most renowned outlets -- first in print and on television and radio, then with digital, then video and now -- within the past year -- with podcasting. I am a passionate storyteller whose work has always been about creating spaces for women to control their own narratives.
With the Support is Sexy podcast and our global community, I also create space for women to have access to three vital elements of success: community, coaching and connection. My message for all women is: Support is Sexy! Having it all doesn't mean doing it all alone! I hope you will help me continue to spread that message to women around the world with your support!
