Woman Owned and Operated - In Business for Forty (40) Years!!!

Elan is one of the longest-running Fitness Centers in Marin County!

Eighty-one (81%) of gyms fail in the first year-

Thirty percent (30%) of gyms went out of Business with Covid. The fitness industry was hit hard with the strictest restrictions and the gym became a space that many feared or gave up on, Elan lost 40% of their membership during the first three months of lockdown!!

The Goal was to Support Members by keeping us all exercising to Stay Mentally and Physically Well. They lost much of their staff, transitioned the entire business to virtual, taught classes in the parking lot and in your living rooms, and lent members weights and equipment.

The pandemic has been very difficult for most of us! As hard as the last three years have been, Elan provided a special place for connection and coming together through the one thing that bonds us all, our passion for health, fitness & movement.

Because of the wonderful community of women, for many, Elan has been a home away from home, a place to escape, a sanctuary, and a haven for physical and emotional support.

For Elan to continue to thrive and remain open they need our help! Elan has not been able to financially 100% recover from the pandemic losses and they need $50,000 to continue to operate. If members and the community donate money to help reach their goals, they will continue the legacy of 40 years of woman-owned business in the community.

I have fond memories of walking through Elan's doors sometimes to meet a friend for a class or to work out the stress of a crummy day. Or one of my favorites, coming back from injury or surgery and feeling the care, support and encouragement from Elan's ownership, staff and members as I made my way back to mobility. Women supporting women is a truth, not just a clever phrase. Elan is a community I want to be part of and contribute to as it has so generously supported me.”
