Support for Johnny & Family

Johnny Morris, age 41, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer of the central nervous system in the beginning of 2018. He underwent brain surgery and then travelled to MD  for 2 months to receive proton radiation treatment. Since then, Johnny has continued to experience many residual health issues, and has been unable to work consistently as a result. Sadly, after several months of multiple seizures per day, this past December, Johnny and his family learned the cancer had returned when a scan revealed another tumor.  On January 13, 2021, he underwent a second awake brain surgery, and will soon begin months of extensive chemotherapy and a stem-cell transplant.

The Morris / Armstrong family is a loving and beloved part of our community. Johnny has brought great joy and connection through his music and his work as a carpenter. His wife, Lindsay, is the space holder at Embodied, a yoga/embodiment/healing arts center in Montpelier (fully virtual now due to the pandemic). Here she guides thoughtful, social-justice oriented and heart-filled classes, manages the other offerings at the studio, and gives massage. They have three kiddos navigating middle school and high school.

Lindsay will need to take more time from her business (already severely impacted by COVID) to care for Johnny this year. With the pandemic, and Johnny's heightened risk, Lindsay may not be able to see any clients, and many types of support from the community are impractical and unsafe.
