Brendan's Eagle Scout Project

Greetings!  My name is Brendan Whartenby.  I am seeking to raise funds for my Eagle Scout project.  As a member of the Harding Academy Horticulture program, I recognized the need for first aid stations that are in close proximity for both the people and animals the program serves.  Additionally, I recognized a great need for an AED.  The program takes place on the athletic complex so once completed, the stations will be accessible to both programs.  

I currently have some of the materials for building and supplying the stations, which are designed to look the little libraries that you see.  However, my greatest need is the acquisition of the AED.   As part of my project, training materials and training for the proper use of this and the field first aid will be included so that our students, staff, and our beloved animals may be properly attended too in the event of emergencies.  

Funds donated above and beyond my goal will go toward supplies needed for growing the horticulture program and toward any other needs identified by Harding Academy in relation to this.  They will not be used by me or my troop--only by and for the beneficiary--Harding Academy.  

I chose this program because of what it has taught me, how it has grown me, and how it continues to develop me as a person.  I am in progress with the project now as I am collecting the medical supplies and building supplies.  I would love to acquire the AED by December 31, 2020 and gift the completion of my project to the school by then as we are actively meeting.
