Divine Child Theatre Program

Many of you know that on August 11th, 2014, the rain storms that dumped inches of rain throughout the Metro Detroit area did a number on the stage, auditorium, costumes, and props that we have accumulated throughout the years.
Insurance has since come and gone and they are able to cover fixing our ruined stage and cover one curtain (there are two that need to be re-dipped in flame retardant). That is all. The flooded costumes rooms, the 2+ dumpsters of costumes that we lost will not be covered by insurance.
We know that so many people's lives were deeply affected by the rain of 8/11, but we were lucky enough to be given the opportunity to have one fundraiser where we will have the opportunity to reclaim some of our assets and put money towards many of the things that have always needed to happen.
For one night only, the City of Dearborn was kind enough to loan us the Mayor Michael Guido theater to put on one additional performance of our award-winning musical from the spring of 2014- Les Miserables. 100% of the proceeds will be given to us. This night will be so magical to us for a number of reasons: many of our cast graduated and will be returning from their colleges (often out-of-state) to perform one more time, our Jean ValJean was able to get his start date with the United States Marine Corps changed and they granted him the opportunity to perform in the show one more time, and we are working hard to bring the magic back to the stage.
We want nothing more than to have a sold out show; it will be hard, but not impossible. That is where you come in. We have such amazing alumni and family and friends scattered around the globe that asked to help in whatever way they can and by doing so, you will actually be helping more than just the Divine Child community. By purchasing one or more tickets to our 10/17 performance, you will be giving someone else the gift of theatre. We will be giving tickets away to individuals in senior citizens homes, as well as older members of our parish community. We can pack the auditorium with a full house of people so excited to support the excellence that it Divine Child High School Theatre!
