-Davilynn update-
Davilynn has been getting stronger and making progress everyday, she is such a fighter! She has overcome so much already and we believe with God on her side she is going to make a full recovery. On Sept 15 Davilynn had an esophagram to check the progress of her healing and she passed! They took out some more of her tubes and she gets to drink fluids now!! We thought she would get soft foods too, but it sounds like not yet. All she has been wanting is a glass of ice water with lemon and she finally got it!! On this same day we also received some news from the doctor that the bullet actually did go through her T4, it didn’t just nick it like we had heard before. She is currently unable to move from the waist down still. With that being said, we are still putting our trust and faith in God completely to restore any damage that may have been done to the spinal cord and nerves. We know she is in His hands and He isn’t done with her healing! Please keep praying for her miraculous complete healing!! For now we understand that the next steps are to make sure she is eating and drinking well and then they want to move her down to the pediatric floor where she will continue to gain strength and heal. They are keeping the feeding tube in until she can get complete nutrition from eating and drinking. In the future she will need another surgery on her esophagus to get it back to its regular diameter in the area they repaired it. They are also saying that she will need to go through a voice box surgery to restore her voice completely back to normal. Despite everything that has happened Davilynn has been keeping a positive attitude and outlook on the future and asks for everyone to please keep praying with her as she faces the next obstacles as they come. She is faithful that with Gods healing she will be walking again. We are so grateful to everyone for all the prayers, love and support we have received. We are beyond blessed to have been able to stay here in Seattle close to Davilynn this whole time. We wouldn't have been able to do it with out everyone’s love and support!! ❤️

Where to begin...On September 1st around one in the morning Kc got the worst, most awful phone call no parent should ever have to receive. He was told his daughter was shot in Seattle with life threatening injuries. Davilynn was rushed to the emergency room. Kc's mind was going crazy.. Is she okay? Is she alive? How bad is it? --He didn't know..no one had any answers right away. Around three in the morning his wife Shayna, him and his siblings drove straight to Harborview Hospital. She was shot from behind and went thru her shoulder blades hitting her T4 on her spine. She underwent a 12 hour emergency surgery to repair her esophagus and windpipe, which went well and she has been moved to the ICU. She is still intubated.. not breathing on her own. The doctors are running many more tests on her spine and legs as well. So far the doctors said Davilynn will not be able to walk again. (We do not believe that..Davilynn is a fighter and she WILL walk again)
Currently she now has a feeding tube in and breathing tube came out. There is so much more to this tragic event but I wanted to give you a general idea of what the family is going thru. So many sleepless nights.
I know many of you want to help them out Financially.. Kc and Shayna are currently both not working.. no income coming in. They are staying in a hotel next to Harborview which we all know gets to be very expensive. Paying for not only the hotel, but food and parking is a nightmare and expensive in itself. They thank each and everyone of you all so much for your generosity, your prayers and most importantly reaching out and wondering what you could do to help! :)
