<div>In het dagelijks leven brengt dat al de nodige uitdagingen met zich mee — maar in mijn sport, zwemmen, soms nog meer. Iets simpels als een startsignaal? Dat hoor ik vaak niet. En bij korte, snelle afstanden kan dat me kostbare tijd kosten.

<div>Ik heb deelgenomen aan Jeugd- en Senioren NK’s en meerdere provinciale kampioenschappen, waar ik met trots mooie resultaten en medailles heb behaald.

<div>Voor dove en slechthorende zwemmers zijn er internationale toernooien zoals het EK, WK en de Deaflympics. Voor het vorige WK was ik gekwalificeerd, maar helaas kreeg ik de financiering (€16.000) niet rond. De Deaflympics heb ik op slechts 0,80 seconde gemist.
