Help Jen with medical/mortgage emergency

Our father,  Allan,  was a decorated World War II veteran and educator who was looking forward to taking an honor flight to Washington DC to see the WWII memorial and to write a book to have his stories told to share with others. He died suddenly a few years ago from a fall in a doctor's office. He was having his blood drawn and fell out of the chair hitting his head on the door in front of him. As a result, he fractured his neck in two places and died from a series of medical mishaps over the next 17 days. We worked with a lawyer to sue for the negligence of his fall, but the lawyer felt that a case involving a 91 year old man was not going to net him much money so, after three years, he dropped the case just as the statute of limitations for a law suit ran out. For three years the lawyer led us to believe that we would have a positive outcome for our case and then he dropped us.  During this time my sister and I have struggled to maintain the home that we had all lived in with the hopes that she and I would be able to carry on in the home that my father had built and loved.

My sister,  Susan,  suffers from Crohn's disease - some days are good for her and others leave her unable to function. This disease has not only impacted her bowels but has left her with problems with her knees, hip and back. She has days when she is not able to move which makes working a retail job difficult.  We have  recently had high medical bills to cover my sister's medical expenses . This chronic illness has made working a full time job for her difficult and she has just recently had to retire.  She is not yet 65 so we searched for new medical coverage for her but the new coverage has led to outrageous prices for her medications - which has put us behind in our monthly expenses. She needs her medications which means other bills have been delayed. My income as a teacher has not been sufficient enough to carry the weight of all the expenses.

We have had a major car expense, house repairs, and pharmacy bills eat up our income and we have fallen behind. We are behind in the mortgage payment and our father had also taken out a reverse mortgage loan that we now have to pay. We are in danger of losing our home by the end of July if we are not able to make payments. We are two months behind in the mortgage payments but the bank now wants us to pay off the full remainder of the mortgage by the end of July. We are looking for assistance to get up back on our feet and keep a roof over our heads.  We need to payoff the loan by the end of July which is 25,000 and we need to  pay down the mortgage....otherwise we will not have anywhere to live.

If we are not able to raise enough funds to satisfy the bank, then we need assistance in moving. I have no money for even a U-haul or to pay for a storage unit to place our household items.  I am looking for any assistance I can receive.

We just need help to get back on our feet after experiencing such a difficult time these past few years.
