Eisenman Family Fire Recovery Fund

The Eisenman family's home has been destroyed in conjunction with an explosion that came from their neighbor's house on Monday July 24th. Cody, Marisa and their two girls' home was first impacted by the blast and then it subsequently caught on fire. Fortunately everyone in the family was unhurt. Marisa was home at the time, but somehow walked out unscathed.  She was laying down in the bed against the north wall when the explosion occurred. The window above her head and some of the surrounding wall blew out all around her and debris from the ceiling came down on top of her. She was able to get up out of the room and exit the front door where she saw that the house on the north side was in rubble. The children (ages 6 and 9) were not present, they were at camp and not home at the time. Unfortunately they did lose their pet cat in the fire.

At this point it looks like most all of their belongings were lost in the fire.  All clothes and furniture were heavily burned or suffered severe smoke damage.  We are still hoping that they will be able to salvage photos and other personal mementos.

The family is currently checked into a hotel and everyone is safe and sound.  From there it opens up, they are getting help from the insurance company to identify a rental for the next six to ten months and will begin rebuilding their home.

To add more to the story, Marisa was diagnosed with a form of Leukemia in March of 2014.  She underwent multiple iterations of chemotherapy to get it under control and then ultimately had a stem cell bone marrow transplant in December of the same year.  She is currently in remission which is good, but is battling graft vs host ailments and remains on heavy medication (immune suppressants and steroids) to combat it.

The family continues to have a very positive attitude and is reaching out to the community for any help that they can bestow.  At this point the family is held up in an apartment, and doesn’t have room for many things.  Please consider donating to their fund if you can afford it.  Thank you very much for reading this.
