Hello and thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

I am raising funds for Camphill Medical Practice based in Aberdeen. They are supporting the amazing McGowan family who unfortunately received the devastating news in September 2024 that Paul, a hard working husband and Dad of 2 young kids had Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer and cancer in his lymph nodes which has also spread to his liver. At only 43 years old he and his family were shattered by the news.

Paul and his wife Sharon began to research alternative treatments available to work alongside his NHS treatment of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery and they came across Mistletoe Therapy.

Mistletoe Therapy is commonly used within Europe and is known to be highly effective, however, it is not available on the NHS.

This is where Camphill Medical Practice come in. They are a charity based clinic in Aberdeen and after a consultation with Dr Geider from the clinic Paul was on his way to Aberdeen to receive 2 weeks of intensive mistletoe treatment before his chemotherapy started.

Paul’s treatment is gruelling, unforgiving and is ongoing but he always has a smile on his face despite what he is going through. He always has time to stop and chat, to say hello and is pushing on with life despite everything.

Paul still has a long road ahead of him but with the support from the medical team at Camphill Medical Trust he is on the right path and I personally want to support the McGowan family in any way I can.

So I have signed up to take part in the Kiltwalk on Sunday 27th April 2025. I will be walking the longest route (The Mighty Stride) which is 23miles…go big or go home I say! I have never taken part in the Kiltwalk before and never walked anything near this but I can’t wait!

I will be out pounding the streets between now and then training for the big day so if you see me out on my travels give me a toot or a wave of support! And if you can spare a few £’s to help raise some well deserved funds for this amazing charity I would very much appreciate it as would Paul, Sharon and the rest of the family.
