To all my Facebook friends and family, My Aunt Barbara Victori and myself am starting a donation fund for an amazing aunt, sister, friend and of course an incredible mother Monica Olszewski (because she's all mine) Monica has recently been diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer called Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC). ACC is a cancer which spreads throughout the facial glands but Monica's cancer is located in her breast.
There are only 20 people nationwide who have the same diagnosis. Although there is limited information about ACC researchers at St. Johns Hopkins in Maryland do know that ACC usually spreads to the lungs and other vital organs if left unattended. Sadly enough, doctors have found three small masses in Monica's lungs and another spot on her adrenal gland. Physicians at Roswell have never had a single patient with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma! Therefore, it is vital Monica travel to Baltimore, Maryland to work closely with ACC researchers in order to identify the best course of treatment.
If you know my mom, your well aware that she would never ask anyone for anything, which is why I'm not telling her we're doing this! Many of the costs for her daily treatment and future travel expenses are not covered by health insurance. That's why I'm coming to you for help. I'm asking that all who are able make a monetary donation. Every little bit makes a difference, no amount is too small!
Monica is extremely emotionally drained from the many tests, biopsies, appointments, operations and current radiation therapy that I want for financial worry to be the very last thing on her mind. Lastly, I want to thank all of you in advance for your ever encouraging support and prayers. Please keep Monica and our family in your thoughts.
