These past 2 years, social distancing made it difficult for us to partake in our usual traditions, such as gathering for Iftar with our friends and family, volunteering with our local masjids to help others in need or attending Tarawih/Jummah prayers. On the opposite side of the spectrum, this tough time has made us all become more cognizant about the importance of our own physical and mental health. This is why we are encouraging others to join us in a collective effort occurring completely at the comfort of your local neighborhood: The 2nd Annual Eid al-Fitr 5K Run/Walk! The 5K (3.1 miles) can be done on your own at any time from May 1st-3rd. Join us in attendance for a day of physical activity with you and your loved ones. Encourage your parents, siblings and children to move with us and make this a part of your family tradition for years to come.  In 2020, we were able to raise $2,500 for ICNA Relief’s COVID-19 Efforts. This year, we plan on doubling that amount with a goal of $5,000!  All proceeds will go to Yemen Aid. This is an organization that is making tremendous efforts towards Yemen’s humanitarian crisis by increasing their access to clean water, establishing ambulance service programs, distributing food to Muslim communities facing hunger, and supplying farmers with crops/tools. Many individuals are suffering from the current conditions, and their campaign is making sure that thousands of more families stay safe and healthy by the day.
