Jesse Reed Benefit

Jesse Reed... a strong, fearless 17 year old athlete at Ligonier Valley High School and a Mason at EWCTC, has shockingly been diagnosed with high-grade osteosarcoma. This rare pediatric bone cancer only affects approximately 400 kids per year. While scans didn't show it spreading to other organs, the tumor in his knee was growing rapidly. Doctors prescribed an aggressive treatment plan involving 29 weeks of chemotherapy, and a complicated knee replacement coming up in mid December. Jesse is unable to attend school until the last several weeks of his senior year, just in time to graduate with his friends and team mates!

Jesse was also working part time laying stone to pay for his new truck expenses and to save towards his heavy equipment operating apprenticeship this spring.  Due to his heavy chemo treatment schedule, he will be spending 4 out of 7 days in Children's Hospital, several times each month until April. While he still grieves the loss of his father only 3 years ago, his mother will accompany him throughout his hospital stays, which unfortunately also compromises household income.
All donations will not only go towards these continued efforts, but to also cover the costs of any medical and therapy expenses not covered by insurance, and to of course rebuild his body and immune system after treatment to help assure his fullest recovery.

As an avid sportsman and outdoor enthusiast, Jesse continues to hunt and fish despite his current challenges. His passion for life and love of nature has also inspired us to organize a country themed benefit concert in his honor:
