Brody's Get Well Fund!

Shortly after his 6th birthday, Brody began having unexplained leg pain and persistent fevers. We took him to his doctor and even the hospital and were then grateful that he was released because all the tests came back negative. He didn't get to finish out his kindergarten year at school and all his family, friends, and even teachers started to worry.

Over the course of a month Brody was having more symptoms, more high fevers and after more blood work, the bad news started to unveil. He was referred to an infectious disease specialist and was admitted to the ER that same day. Over his initial 28-day stay (now one of many), a CT-scan showed a mass in his sinuses and when they did a bone marrow test that's when our world fell apart. He was diagnosed with Burkitts Leukemia Lymphoma. 

Children are supposed to live forever and be resilient and as any parent never expects for anything tragic to happen to their own child, this news changed everything for us. It kills us when he asks "why me", "I just want to be home" and "I don't want needles or have the scar from my port". When Brody simply says "this really sucks" and all you can say is how you wish you could make it all better cause you're his mom and dad .... but ..... you can't.

To have your 6 year old son cry and watch him go through this is a nightmare. Treatment started June 15, 2017 and yes he has lost his beautiful hair, but when you see his sweet smile and beautiful blue eyes, you know he doesn't even know how to give up. As unfortunate as this is, gladly the chemotherapy is working and he is getting better. Some days are better than others and filled with more spirits than others. But we do practically live at the hospital. It sucks to say the least .....for him ....above all.

We have now become a one income household and of course finances are a concern. We aren't asking for trivial things, but any help towards his medical expenses is just that much more chance of success and a deserved long and happy life for such a wonderful boy. If you can find it in your hearts to help him we truly appreciate any and all the help we can get. We pray that Brody's will be an as-fast-as-possible recovery ....and Thank You!
