Rob's Stroke Recovery Fund

Those of you who know my brother, know that he is a giant, kindhearted, funny, sometimes annoying goof ball, who will do anything for anybody, at any time. Whenever Rob (or as family calls him, Bobby) is around, you know there will never be a dull moment. From his Rick Flair impression to his witty remarks, Bobby will always keep you laughing.
For those that don't know Bobby, close your eyes and picture someone with Chris Farley's sense of humor, Donnie Wahlberg’s hairline, and an undying love for the St. Louis Blues - and you have my brother. His caring and compassionate nature make him a great husband to his wife Kathleen and father to William.
Bobby is an Army veteran who was apart of the Charlie Company 2-12 Calvary 4th brigade 1st Calvary Division. During his two tours in Iraq he served as a MRAP gunner and driver. He also served on many M1A2sepv2 as a gunner, loader, and driver. His friends describe Bobby as a big teddy bear who would sacrifice himself at all costs whether if it was for the entertainment of his brothers or executing a mission and proved time and time again that he had your back.
On October 2nd at around 3:00 in the morning, my 30 year-old brother woke up from a dead-sleep experiencing something that would forever change his life. It wouldn’t be confirmed until 48 hours later that he had experienced a stroke in the cerebellum region of his brain.
Bobby's stroke was caused by a blood clot that traveled through a PFO in his heart. A PFO is basically an opening in the top two chambers of your heart that fails to close after birth. When it doesn't close, it allows blood to flow from the right chamber to the left, where it's then pumped throughout the veins in your body. In Bobby’s case, a blood clot made its way through this opening straight to his cerebellum.
Although the prognosis is good, he has a long road to recovery ahead of him. Due to complications from the stroke, he is unable to return to work as a semi- truck driver for a local box company until he's fully healed. The time of recovery is different for each person but every day out of work is a day he isn't making money for his family.
With the cost of medical bills and therapy associated with the stroke, along with the cost of daily living - the burden he and his family could face is unimaginable. I want Bobby and Kathleen to have the freedom of not worrying about bills piling up so that they can focus on his recovery and getting back to a normal life.
All money donated will go directly to Bobby and Kathleen to help cover medical expenses and other bills that will add up while he's out of work.
Any and all donations are greatly appreciated by not only my family and I, but Bobby and Kathleen as well.
