Hi friends (known and unknown). family, clients, peers, colleagues and co-workers!
I am sure if you are reading this, you are aware we are looking for financial support. What you may not be aware of is, my friend, partner in crime and Grandma #3 to my girls has been diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer.
Pam Sears has been our Massage Therapist at Insights For Life for going on 2-years now. In December of 2012 we held a Toy Drive at IFL and Pam offered to do chair massage with all donations going to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital ... Now imagine this, she and I had never met, never talked or even heard of each other. She just showed on up with her big o’l heart to donate and to serve. No questions asked! AND yes, we have been glued at the hips ever since … ever meet one of those people you instantly recognize as family?!?!
For those of you that know Pam, you know how giving she is, you will often see her walking in with treats, or dinner if she knows you will be working late and always giving extra time, love and special attention to her clients. I often see her making special trips and arrangements such as evening, holiday and weekend massages for her Hospice clients to relieve their pain. For those of you that don’t know her, I highly recommend that you make it a point to!
Pam, being self-employed and dependent upon her massage clientele for over 80% of her income is going to be a problem, as she will not be able to do regular massages for 4-6 weeks after the mastectomy. This funding however is not designed for assistance there.
With self-employment comes high insurance plans, high deductibles ($2500) and co-pays (20%), but again we are not asking for funding assistance there.
What we need assistance with is the additional nutritional support needed to boost her immune system and prepare her body for surgery and post-surgery after care and healing. Of which is not covered by insurance as it is concidered "alternative"! High absorbtion nutritionals, raw and vegan food, detox programs and Naturopathic specialist… all require payment right now! Co-pays and deductibles are easier to make smaller payments on.
Pam is fighting this fight from both sides of the medical fence and for that I am very proud of her! If you are unable to support her financially with money at this time, here is a list of ways you or your family and friends can support her through this journey.
1) Prepay for future massages
2) Buy gift certificates for stocking stuffers or holiday gifts.
3) Prepay for a Membership Program

Although Pam will not be able to do standard or deep tissue massages for 4 - 6 weeks, she WILL BE able to offer the following services after October 15th

4) Therapeutic Touch/White Light Reiki Energy Healing Sessions
5) Raindrop Therapy/Aroma-touch Therapy
