My Little Dog's Eye Surgery

I am a 66 year old woman who lives alone, subsiding only on social security and two small pensions. I have taken care of people my whole life. I never married, and took care of my sick mother for years. I became and RN, at the age of 43, and took care of cancer patients for 10 years. I had to leave this dream job to care for my 90 year old father who developed bladder cancer. I was his sole caretaker and this was an emotionally and physically gruelling labor of love. During those years, I lived off of my small 403B account, which had been desimated by a cruel economy. Throughout the years, I have always helped those in need where I could, I also donated money monthly to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, to Save the Children, and to the ASPCA and Disabled Vets, and Oxfam.
Now I find myself greatly in need of financial help, and my family is unable to providemuch financial assisance to me as they are also struggling.
My financial need is NOT for me, but for my beautiful, sweet little Shih Tzu, Mamie, who needs surgery to remove an eye because of corneal ulcers and recurring infections. I'm told this surgery will cost approx. $3,000, and I simply don't have the money to pay for this surgery which she so desperately needs. Never having known the joy of having a baby of my own, my two little Shih Tzu's, Mamie and Lily, are my children. I'm devastated to not be able to pay for this surgery and don't know where else to turn for help.
I know that the people who help people financially on this wonderful site are good, loving people. I hope and PRAY that somebody out there will see my plea, and help my sweet, sweet Mamie get the surgery she needs. She may need the surgery within the next two to three weeks. I'm giving her 5 different kinds of eye drops 4 times daily, but the Opthamology Vet says she WILL need the eye removed. The funds will cover her surgery, hospitalization, and maybe a couple of follow-up appointments.
If you can help me out, I will be incredibly grateful. I will do private duty nursing when she is better, and I will then pay it forward and help anyone who finds themself in such a desperate, heartbreaking situation.
