Kidney Transplant ❤️

Facebook family and friends as many of you may know in 2005 my brother Joey received a kidney transplant. Since then (almost 12 years ago) his transplant has reached its lifespan. Once again he has been placed on the transplant list. The wait time in Michigan is 3 to 6 years unless a live donor is available. Our brother Chris has stepped forward, undergone extensive testing and is a perfect match. He will be donating his kidney. Surgery is scheduled for September 6th. The average recovery time for both the donor and recipient is approximately 8 weeks. Although we are grateful to Chris's employer for allowing him the time off, he will be doing so without pay. Chris is the financial provider to his family of six. In addition, Joey will also be affected financially (with medical bills for both Chris and himself). The average cost of a kidney transplant is $262,900. Although he is not responsible for the full amount, he will be responsible for deductibles & other accumulated costs. I am asking everyone to please consider donating to help both families during their recovery time.
