No, we DON'T pay Westsea's legal expenses

Three years on, some Orchard House lessees still face a lawsuit for alleged lease default by Westsea Construction for us refusing to pay its litigation and other legal expenses... billed even when those costs were in a proceeding that the company lost! The precedent eventually set in our case will apply directly to nine other leasehold buildings, as the B.C. Court of Appeal has declared that ours is a "standard-form agreement" along with those nine others.  There are numerous further almost-identical leases for which the pending precedent in our case should also apply. 

Of course we are incurring legal costs personally in this long process to argue that under the lease the landlord's unlimited expenses to oppose any lessee--and most other landlord legal expenses--are not building operating expenses. Please help cover our personal cost to argue this effectively for us and also for you, no matter whether you lease a home here at Orchard House, in Vancouver's West End, in Surrey or in Richmond; all of B.C.'s long-term residential lessees are in the same unfair boat.
