Back to School Supplies Drive

Sierra Leone is one of the poorest countries in Africa and had suffered many setbacks. The rebel war, Ebola outbreak, and mudslide left scores dead, many homeless, and children orphaned. The rural communities were the most affected. Many of these residents are very poor and rely on sustenance farming. These communities do not have a functioning school and as a result the children do not go to school. 

Education for Hope is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that seeks to end the generational cycle of poverty by building and renovating and providing educational resources to schools in rural communities in Sierra Leone. Currently, we are completing a primary school in Rogbomtama village that will serve three communities giving the children of these communities the opportunity to go to school for the first time and the ability to read and write and lead a better life.  

Our goal is to give each child a drawstring backpack with school supplies at the start of their educational journey. Each pack will have 3 to 5 notebooks, pencils, erasers, crayons, pens, ruler, coloring books, etc. Each pack will cost $10.00 including the school supplies.
