Ray's Fight Against Crohns Disease

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Ray and I have advanced Crohn's Disease. I am 68 years old living on social security and working part time to make ends meet. I have battled this disease since I was in my teens. Since 1994 I have had 4 small bowel resections and only have about 8 ft of intestine left, normal person has 25-30 ft. In November of 2015 I went to the emergency room because of an abcessed fistula near my belly button. I was in the hospital for 3 days with all kinds of procedures done. I was told that I needed to go on Humira, very expensive, but luckily my doctor found a grant program that paid all of my copay. My copay was $3100 the first month, $1500 the second month, and $210 each month till the end of the year,  and then it starts all over again for the new year. The Humira changed my life, no pain, no going to the toilet 10 times a day and I was able to put some weight back on, I was down to 147 lbs and I am 5'10". .All good things come to an end and my  grant money ended at the end of 2016. Since then I have slowly regressed and some symtoms are returning. The fistula near my belly button closed up when I was on medication but has reopened as I haven't been able to pay for the Humira. I feel I have tried all other avenues  for assitance. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank s, Ray
