Nieuwe hulphond, dezelfde vrijheid. 
 
Ik ben Veer, 23 jaar, en al mijn hele leven heb ik te maken met mentale problemen. Zo werd er op mijn 9e een angststoornis vastgesteld en rond mijn 18e werden autisme en PTSS vastgesteld.
 
7 jaar geleden kwam Xip in mijn leven. Samen zijn wij het hulphondentraject ingegaan. Xip heeft mijn leven ontzettend veranderd. Dankzij hem heb ik stap voor stap weer dingen kunnen opbouwen waarvan ik nooit had gedacht dat ze nog mogelijk waren.
 
Helaas wordt Xip ouder. Hij kan door onder andere zijn leeftijd binnenkort niet meer werken als hulphond en zal met pensioen moeten.
 
En daar ligt mijn grootste angst: alles wat ik samen met Xip heb opgebouwd kwijtraken.
 
Ik heb een lange tijd in een enorm zwart gat gezeten. Ziekenhuisopnames, klinieken en periodes waarin het allemaal ontzettend zwaar was, zijn onderdeel geweest van mijn leven.
 
Op dit moment woon ik nog steeds in een kliniek, maar ik ben langzaam, stapje voor stapje, aan het uitstromen. Mede dankzij Xip. 
 
Daarom ben ik deze crowdfunding gestart.
 
Een nieuwe hulphond kan mij helpen om mijn zelfstandigheid, stabiliteit en vrijheid te behouden. Helaas wordt een volgende hulphond voor mij niet vergoed.
 
Het complete hulphondentraject bij Animal 4 Health, de organisatie waarbij ik momenteel ook met Xip aangesloten ben, kost €17.469,96.
 
Daar komen nog andere kosten bij. Een goed gefokte en geteste pup kost al snel rond de €2.500. Daarnaast zijn er kosten voor bijvoorbeeld de eerste entingen, puppyvoer, een bench, een passende halsband en een geschikt tuig.
 
Vanwege mijn PTSS en autisme kan ik momenteel niet werken en ben ik afhankelijk van een verkorte uitkering, mede doordat ik momenteel in een kliniek woon.
 
Met mijn inkomen kan ik hier bij lange na niet zelf voor sparen. Daarom hoop ik met deze crowdfunding €24.000 bij elkaar te krijgen.
 
Ik hoop met mijn toekomstige hulphond mijn vrijheid te kunnen behouden en de weg die ik samen met Xip ben begonnen voort te zetten. 
 
En Xip? Die blijft natuurlijk gewoon bij mij wonen.

Er is niemand of niets zo waardevol als mijn beste vriend. Hij gaat met pensioen, maar hij blijft voor altijd mijn maatje!
