Our beloved husband and father Bill Matthews passed away after a short battle with lung cancer on October 17, 2020. He was my beloved husband of 20 years and the proud father of our two sons Liam, 14, and Lucas, 12.
Bill was such an honorable, solid, generous and kind person, I can't tell you the number of people that he helped over the years: buying school clothes for a nephew, getting computers for kids in need, fixing anything that needed fixing: door, shoes, locks, instruments, all for the price of "some chocolate chip cookies."
He was hardworking and generous to a fault. He loved birds and jazz. He was an excellent dad and taught our kids and their friends all about nature, fishing, tools, beading, carving and camping.
He never judged anyone-- he treated everyone like an equal. He always said life's greatest gift was to love and be loved in return.
We have been overwhelmed by the support we have received since Bill's illness began and since his passing. But his death (and Covid-19) have left us in a difficult financial spot. I will be getting a full-time job; I was working on creating a yoga business but when Covid-19 hit my business did too. I can and will figure out how to earn enough money to raise my boys.
It was suggested to me by friends that I start a go fund me page, I am somewhat loathe to do this considering all that is happening now. As a stop gap, if, and only if you want to contribute to the boys welfare please do so in any amount you feel comfortable with donating.
