Edwina Paul - Cruz Family Support

Donation protected

Nearly one year ago, one of my fellow parishioners and extended family, Edwina Paul-Cruz,  went missing. We are from a reservation south of Phoenix, Gila River Indian Community, and we both had our girls attend school in town, where they participated in Girl Scouts and basketball together. After a couple weeks of searching, she was finally found. Unfortunately, she was deceased. She had been fatally wounded by gun shot. Her family pulled together with a strength unimaginable.

They have survived and push forward supporting other families to survive the losses that this year has presented. In spite of the stresses of COVID-19, being an employee of St. Peter’s Indian Mission, Albert Cruz, now widowed, prays for and supports our parish families throughout the reservation. Our schools are closed. His work is limited. He is raising six beautiful children and taking care of his mother, Ophelia Cruz.

As we approach the first memorial for Edwina,I am asking for you to consider helping to support the Cruz Family. Any amount will go a long way, just to show this family that they are loved and surrounded by a community of people who care and want to support them.

Your generosity is greatly appreciated. God bless you and keep you safe through this Christmas season.
