Edward Swanigan Stolen Savings
Donation protected
My father, Edward Swanigan, is a mechanic and owns a small auto repair shop in Chicago's West side. For eleven years he deposited money from that shop into his business account at the local Chase Bank branch. In October of 2020 he received a call from Chase's Collection department seeking to collect on a $5,000 over-draft. On checking his statements, he discovered many small transactions from places all over the world. Computer thieves had drained his account stealing $23,000, representing 11 years of savings.
This has been very stressful for my father. He is trying to keep his business going during this pandemic but now finds himself with no capital making it difficult to start over. The theft was the subject of an ABC I-Team investigation that confirmed the fraud, but they were unable to help him recover any of the stolen money. We would be grateful for any help that can be offered.
