Edward's living expenses

Mr. Edward Renaud is a patient of mine I have known for 34 years.  At 33 years of age he was diagnosed with narcolepsy that had a profound affect on his life.  At about age 43 he was unlawfully forced to retire from teaching without benefits. 
He has developed diabetes and multiple other medical disorders.
Because he had very little money he lived extremely modestly. 
In November 2017 while hospitalized he ran out of money, was evicted from his apartment, was unable to get his belongings and lost everything including his wallet.
He ended up in a horrible boarding house for $700/month, had no help and meals included cold cereal and McDonald’s dropped off by the owner or pizza delivery.  He developed congestive heart failure and uncontrolled diabetes which led to three hospitalizations.  After the 3rd and no help from social services, I arranged for him to go to an inexpensive continuing care facility that does not have an up-front fee.  The cost is $3,259/month.  His monthly income is $1,200/month from social security. Thus, we are trying to raise money, so he can stay.  It’s a good place where he gets the care he needs and there are other patients his age.
