Educational Trip to Kyoto

Hello, my name is James Lee Pruefert

I am 15 years old (16 years old by November 25th) and male.

I live in Wisconsin, going to a very nice school, and this school has offered all students (with the exception of seniors) the chance to go to a summer exchange program called CIEE. Now,  as a person who has wanted to
travel since I was 5, this was my big shot into traveling across the world
and see new cultures, religions, and customs. More specifically, I want to
learn the Japanese Language and Japanese culture, which takes me to
my requested location: Tokyo/Kyoto, Japan

This is where you friendly people come in

You see, the price for entering this program is $6,000, which we don't
have lying around. We could apply for scholarships, but these scholarships will only cover a small amount, up to a max of 10% off. But this is something I have always wanted to do.  $6,000 may seem like a large amount for one person, but if 100 people pitched in, they all would only have to pay $60, and for a thousand people, only $6. Not to mention, if there is any excess money, I will be donating all of that excess to the Humane Society of the United States, in order to save more animal's lives.

This $6000 will pay for:

~Dorms for a Japanese Campus
~3 Meals a day for 4 weeks
~Japanese lessons for language and culture
~Bus ticket for Tokyo/Kyoto
~Exchange family for weekends
~Trips to famous and popular locations (Kyoto castles, Anime and Manga studios)

This will not pay for:
~Plane Ticket
(Don't worry, we have this stuff covered, we don't want to ask TOO much from you fine people)

The due date is relatively soon, going at February 28th, 2018, and if we do not make this year,  the money will stay, we'll be still accepting donations, but this money will go into a trip for 2019! The excess money will still apply in this scenario

If we make it to $6000, everyone who has donated will get a free postcard from Japan! That gives you another reason to donate today!

Thank you for at least reading this entirely, and every little bit counts!

(EDIT: The payment deadline has been moved from February 10th to February 28th, giving you all an extra 18 days! Thats 2 1/2 weeks more. Not to mention, we will be taking $1000 out of the funds by December 18th for payment upfront. When that happens, the goal will lower from $6000 to $5000. Not to mention, if our financial aid grant is applied, the goal could be lowered dramatically! Thank you for reading!)
