Education Support for Promising Orphaned Children

Tax deductible
The United Nations Children's Fund, or Unicef, estimates the number of children living in orphanages in Uganda to be over 2.5 million in 2018. The AIDS epidemic contributes to approximately half of these cases, while the balance a result of issues such as preventable diseases, access to food, and severe poverty. Education is often the first casualty of becoming an orphan, leaving little hope for those suffering the fate to realize their potential and become impactful members of society. The US-Uganda Orphan Education Fund (UUOEF) is a 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization, whose mission is to finance the secondary school education of high potential, financially needy, orphaned students in Uganda. The fund is the outgrowth of the former Uganda Mission Fund, an outreach program of the Church of the Nativity. Since its inception, UUOEF has assisted over two hundred orphaned students complete their secondary school education. Most graduates have continued their post high school education at government funded vocational schools or universities.
