Education Fund for the Maheri Girls

Julieth came into our lives last year when she needed a host family for her to continue to attend the International School of Tanganyika on full scholarship.  In April this year, she was unexpectedly orphaned when her mother passed away.  With no other extended family able to take care of her and her two younger sisters, Julieth, Jackie, and Joy joined our family.  If you told me when we arrived in Tanzania three years ago that we would leave with five kids I wouldn’t have believed you, but we are loving it!

Julieth just graduated from IB and is working hard to get a scholarship to college for next fall, Jackie is 15 and loves music, and Joy is 11 and would play basketball all day long if she could!  Jonathan and I feel so lucky to have them in our family - they’re kind, smart, and have fit right into the mix with our two biological daughters, Paige and Sienna.  We are in the middle of the legal process to gain full custody of the kids, but in the meantime we have to pay out of pocket for a high quality school, which happens to be very expensive in Tanzania.  This is where we have to humbly ask for help from our friends and family.  All funds will go towards this year’s tuition, and any funds donated above the goal amount will help with paying for college and legal fees associated with the custody process.
