Educating The Kids of Africa
Donation protected
"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world" - Nelson Mandela
My name is Niamh, I go to Barker College, I am 16 years old and in December I will be venturing to the primary schools of Tanzania and the slums of Kibera in Nairobi with Global Immersion.

If you chose to donate: Your money will go towards serving the beautiful students of Kibera (Africa's 2nd biggest slum) as well as...
1. Guaranteeing "a child of the slums" a secondary school education at a quality boarding school in Tanzania. This education will enable them to grow and develop in an encouraging and safe environment.
2. Building a music school for the three schools to enjoy as music is one thing that unifies the wonderful tribes of Africa.
3. Building a community hall that will become the hub of regional activity as well as an educational resource. This will generate a sustainable income through weddings, conferences and other events.
4. Better Hygiene standards at all four schools with the building of more sanitized toilets. At the moment there can be 1 toilet to 200 students.

We will then be leading an athletics carnival between the schools as well as other activities. While teaching I will meet and get to know one of the children personally, where I will visit their Shanty and spend time with their family.

During this incredible experience we will be helping teach at Mandela, Azimio and Kaloleni, located at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro where we will be teaching numeracy, literacy and biology. I will also be physically building the music and community building as well as trekking over 66km to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world over 6 incredible days with other Aussie and East African students.

As well as the gofundme page I will be fundraising in other ways. I will be holding numerous bake sales, selling chocolates, washing cars and dog walking.
I am extremely lucky to be going on this great experience and am very thankful for your generosity to those who are less fortunate than we are.
All donations are welcome and greatly appreciated no matter how big or small and will help go towards changing the lives of children, their families, and their communities in this beautiful developing country. I want to help fight poverty with education and your donations can help.
