Help save my dog

This is my partner and her 6 year old puppy Aqua. She has had her since she was 1 month old and they have been inseparable ever since. Unfortunately Aqua has suddenly fallen ill to the disease pyometra that will kill her unless she has emergency surgery. The surgery is going to cost my partner $1500 - $2000 which she cannot raise on her own. The vet has given my partner 2 choices which are 1. Surgery or 2. Say goodbye to her. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
